[IMG] I have to thank the people who made the Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal walkthroughs. But they often missed some things. If you came across something they didn't please mention it. For example good parties (including Undead Hunter PALADINS:cool:) can work for Bodhi. I discovered Bodhi doesn't like THIEVES and rejects them (I believe good or evil ones). You can get around this by dual-classing to a new class before you meet her or to a thief afterwards.

If you were a thief before you joined Bodhi you can still keep the Thief Stronghold. Note that you can also avoid ever giving the Shadow Thieves a cut/payment :p by charming the person you give them to, getting him out of your guild, and then attacking him. To get him out of the guild simply charm him and then have him attack a party member just before they go outside. He will probably follow your party outside and still be charmed. Just walk him away from the guild and then attack him-no rep loss either.;)

Just to avoid any confusion. I said you can keep the thief stronghold if you work for Bodhi. But you must have the thief stronghold/guild before you join her. Sorry, it only works if your character is given the guild prior to joining Bodhi.

If anyone finds this useful or can add to it please just mention it.

I also recommend just fighting your way out of the Drow city as someone else mentioned-even though this is counter to most guides encouraging you to hurry.

Also, if you don't want to fight Demogorgon you can just tell Odren the truth and get a +1 rep and a balance of gold or exp depending on what you say. This leaves the "Imprisoned One" trapped.

I'll check back every couple of days and add a new comment if someone finds it useful.

    Welcome to the board!

However, I hate to point out that the things you've mentioned are neither new nor missed to the people who have been around here a while...

    Ok.

Thanks, (as a someone new to the board) I didn't know that and I haven't read a walkthrough that included those points so I wasn't sure how many people found out about them.

As someone who has read over more comments than I have I would appreciate it if you mention any that are actually old news:).

If you buy the Throne of Bhaal Strategy Guide published by Prima. most of the points you raised are mentioned, infact I think they all are in there. It gives you the "good" and "evil" paths for every quest or sub plot that has them. Working for the Thieves, or Bodhi, poisoning the druid grove or saving it, killing the rakshasa for the genies or killing the genies, etc.

Yes that's the one I have, and I'm pretty sure it has EVERYTHING in it. It gives you a character guide, NPC guide, helpful tips and tricks, and then the entire walkthrough, including all secrets :)

All of the walkthroughs I've used were downloadable ones that a few people where nice enough to put together for free.

The tricks in the guides you purchase, they may include plot choices you do but do they include all the other things (including the unexpected-such as how you can get the thief stronghold and avoid ever making payments to the Shadow Thieves)?

Mentioning them how you can kill Bloodscalp without getting attacked by an unkillable (unlimited hitpoints?) Arkanis. In order for me to pull this off I had to use the charm&attack party member method of getting Bloodscalp out of the main guild, then into the storage area next to the guild. There I used area effect spells to trap (like web) him just out of my party's view and damage him (with fireball and smite via mages and clerics). I found I even needed to rest to get rid of his body as sometimes having it in view would cause Arkanis to appear. Its a complicated way of getting attacking Bloodscalp but it seems Arkanis is impossible to defeat except when he appears alongside Mook (whom you can charm and pickpocket to get the shipment from).

One thing that may be helpful in ToB (and the item aspect may or may not be in a guide) is to let the monks arrest the smugglers. Then quickly talk to the head smuggler before they take him away and purchase any good equipment he has (gems and rare items can be purchased for less than you sell them-giving an unlimited gold supply) and then attack him. The monks don't stop you and when you defeat him you don't get much in the way of exp but he drops additional copies of the K'logarath Axe, Enkidu's Full Plate, and Gargoyle Boots. This is the way I was able to get 2 of each of these without any outright cheating.

 I guess that depends on your definition of cheating

If it is an error then maybe, otherwise it was done in a game where I have no modifications to all for item creation and so on... maybe it is less so than placing snares where foes will appear.

Otherwise it may be looting:eek: taken a step beyond the usual.

I haven't been around in awhile. I still come across people on occasion who don't know some of the things I've noticed. I stopped posting after figuring it was old news and I had other things to do then. If anyone has additional gems to share with those that never bought a guide please mention them. I may check back/repost on occasion. Have a good one till then.
