    ********* SPOILER ALERT **************

Based on a question in the SOA forum, I am wondering. Near the end of the story, your beginnings are explained. The priestess that is your mother appears. Does the game have different pictures for the mother based on your race? A dwarf mommy for a dwarf character?

Yes, elven for an elf, halfling for a halfling and so on. Always blonde, though. And the same voice.

    hmm...there's something that bothers me.

Based on gorions note in BG1, he says that he and [CHARNAME]'s mother were lovers for a long time, But in ToB, i get the expression that they met first time. And Alliana (mother) was evil, and worshipped Bhaal, and Gorion was good, conflicts anyone? And, my character was DWARF in BG1, so was his mother then!Game is too human-based!

I think that the whole "former lovers" thing was supposed to be a cover story for why he was taking care of you.
As for the dwarf, whats to stop a dwarf and human falling in love?
That said, BG is rather humanocentric, if that's even a word.

Anything's possible in the FR. After all, "Myth Drannor" got it's name from an elf and dwarf couple :/

Yup. I haven't played ToB in a while, but don't you find out that the harper group Gorion was with, in fact, terminated the nest of Bhaal worshippers, your mother included?

I think you do. That said, you can find a roleplaying or in-character justification for just about anything. It might not be pretty, though.

"Anthropocentric" the word you're after? Probably not, since it was coined in a world where there are no other intelligent humanoid races. "Ethnocentric" doesn't seem quite right, either...

@ Western Paladin: I don't want to know...
