    Mine:

Oz - I've had my fair share of friends do time in both federal and provincial jail, and I'm also a member of a racial minority myself, so I can identify with a lot of what's going on, sans some of the overboard soap opera elements.

X- Files - At least before it jumped the shark with that stupid "I am your father" business.

Dr. Oz - Really charismatic speaker who comes across as genuinely sincere and concerned. Dispenses a lot of good advice, but in an utterly non-condescending way.

The Simpsons must be mentioned, also love Family Guy. The first few seasons of Scrubs was class and MASH will always hold a place in my heart.

For the serious stuff I watched and loved Oz (although the story line with the aging pills most have been one of the silliest of all time anywhere) back in the day, watching and loving The Wire now and was completely blown away by how well they made Game of Thrones.

‏I love the variety shows. They are on all the time, on most channels. The problem is, they’re short. Usually a 2-3 minute segment (broken up into 30 second skits), followed by 10 minutes or so of filler, then back to the show, then more filler, etc. Fortunately I usually record stuff so I can skip the filler.

Some TV is utter crap -- yet for nostalgic reasons it still makes the lists of various people. Bear that in mind as you read my list, which consists of the good, the bad, and the lame-ass.

MASH, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Threes Company, all the Star Treks except Voyager, OZ, Seinfeld, Friends, Fringe, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Royal Canadian Air Farce, Macgyver, Perfect Strangers, In Living Color, The Cosby Show, The Muppet Show, News Radio, SNL before 1995 or so, Airwolf, Law and Order, LA Law, Gilligans Island, Human Target (the recent one, I was pissed when they cancelled it), The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Black Adder, and in a reach back to my young childhood, the Flintstones, Sesame Street, Friendly Giant, and Mr. Dressup.

Not a long list at all!

It's my understanding that the television show was called merely "Black Adder" in the first season (the one set around the time of Richard II or so). Then there was Black Adder Parte the Seconde, which was set in Elizabethan England and will always remain my all time favorite season. Then there was Black Adder III, set during the Regency period, and to be honest it did little for me, and finally Black Adder Goes Forth, set in the trenches if WWI. Funny as hell. I know of at least 2 specials, a time traveling one called Black Adder Goes Back and Forth, and a brutal parody of the Christmas Carol whose title eludes me at the moment.

IMHO, Rowan Atkinson's work in these series showcases his considerable comedic talents far better than his mute Mr. Bean work ever did. Why the weird Bean character has more appeal in North America than Lord Edmund Blackadder is something that will always boggle my mind.

Seinfeld has always been one of my favorites. I am a walking Seinfeld quote machine. Simpsons is a classic too. I always liked Futurama.

In the Sci-fi genre, Star Trek, the originals and Next Generation, is amongst the best ever. But I watched aaaaall of the Battlestar Galactica remake... twice. Very big fan.

I also like The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, X-Files. First seasons of Heroes and Lost (the rest is piss).

For french-canadian series, I love La Vie La Vie, Omerta, Minuit le soir (can't wait to see 19-2), Grande Ourse.

But my favorite TV show right now is undoubtably : Dexter! That show is incredible!

I think I missed Dexter -- what a great show! I read the first few books and found them mediocre. The show has far surpassed the books in terms of quality.
