Am I the only person in the world who doesn't hate automated voice mail systems? If I can get information from a recording or be funneled directly to the right department, I'd much rather do that than have to repeat my story a zillion times. Besides, there's generally an escape to an operator available, even if it's not announced on the recording.

Still, this is a cool piece of technology.

That does sound like a great gizmo to have. No more wasted energy by screaming at those robots and getting nowhere. Although it does actually make a good workout for the lungs.

Well, this will certainly be easy. Just say an expletive or two and you are on your way to a real person.

I don't really think it will work. Once people realize that all they have to do is swear and the will get through faster, everyone will do it.

And that may just stop so many admn companies from using those annoying things. Maybe that in turn may create more job opportunities. Then again, those particular jobs may require people who can use a robotic tone of voice at first to ween people off automated answering services.

I can't say that I have ever had a problem with automated phone systems, like Rallymama I actually prefer them over dealing with human operators who are almost invariably clueless.

I have to call the government fairly regularly to make enquiries about my clients and I absolutely dread the times when the information I need is only available by speaking with a human being.

The automated services that are available are quick and easy to use. Speaking to a human requires a lengthy wait on hold before you even get an available operator. Then, typically they do not have a clue about anything remotely complex, such as how to use their own computers, not to mention that they will either refuse or insist on shunting you at least one or two people up the chain of command if you actually want them to do something.

It was only a matter of time, although I think THE TIME SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIFTEEN ****ING YEARS AGO.

What if you are on hold while yelling at your brother to ' Get off my @$£!^&$ sweeties?'
