An idea I picked up from NaNoWriMo, dares are very useful. Basically, you dare other people to add some weird thing to their story, makes things interesting and random (I based an entire English short story around dares - my teacher told me that it was 'warped')
So what dares can we at Sorcerer's Place come up with?

Insert a mention of the Flaming Warrior Pancakes somewhere

(And from the NaNo forums) Have the first line be "Where the hell are my pants?"

Edit: For those interested, here is the original thread: http://www.nanowrimo.org/viewtopic.php?t=7067&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

    OK,I'm game. :D

Have at least two characters use the following incredibly cheesy line:

    "I'm hungry...for love."

Have a male character who uses skin moisturisor, and have him constantly refer to the 'soft silkiness' of his hands.

Have a human with pointy ears appear, and be extremely annoyed when people refer to him as an elf.

Have a scene in which a streaker runs through - no explaination or reason given.

    Give the main character hay-fever
