I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion but one of my favorite quotes from Oblivion is from the FG. "Go hurt something."

I also get a kick out of clicking on Rumors when talking to a thief and getting some high minded, pious comment about the gods. Sure that really makes sense I guess if he isn't in jail he is doing well.

Have you noticed that the nine are all good gods? The Daedra aren't actually gods unless you believe that the criteria for being a god is being worshiped. Of course there is Sithis but I personally think anyone who worships a god that considers his followers as expendable is crazy. We need a few off beat gods in the Elder Scrolls.

Why not, A little bit of strife makes it rea. But I also think it is more complicated than that in Tamriel. I even believe it is a liberated part of Oblivion itself avccording to a book. Beut I cannot be sure, ask at the Elderscroll forums.

Yeah, indeed, there are not so many radiant deities.:p Actually, the Nine is the standard pantheon of Imperials. Hopefully,:) other races (maybe except for Dark Elves) have radiant deities in their pantheons too.

On the other hand, in our own physical 3D "plane" there is a lot of monotheists with one single (though omnipotent) Deity and it doesn't disturb them!:D;)

Well one 'unwise' thing I find somewhat jarring is the behaviour and diction of 'sleepers' in towns as the main quest advances; someone who was an ordinary villager and would chat with you about this or that, suddenly starts a conversation with you as soon as you're in earshot, and starts raving about the Grand Foozle and his minions (one of whom includes the speaker, I guess).

That's great, and it develops tension and atmosphere of a land in crisis...but things just fall apart if you then click on a convo topic that explicitly doesn't relate to the Big Bad (like "Services") and the brainwashed mouthpiece 'snaps out of it' and rattles off directions like (s)he (and anyone else) always did. :skeptic:

It just sort of pops the balloon of ambiance the whole 'possessed townsperson' thing is supposed build...dang, now I have another 'vignette' percolating in my head - cya over in Creativity Surge! :heh:

Just comments or philosophy from the Elder Scrolls that you may have really liked or found strange or unsatisfying.
