Not fantasy, but rather SciFi... Is anyone else here into his stuff? I really liked well, cough, uh, idoru... :D And Virtual Light... and All Tomorrow's Parties.. they were sort of a trilogy, even though they all had independent plots. It seemed to me that he managed to focus more on the characters and plot in those 3 books, rather than obsessing over all the cool technology.

[IMG] Yes I really like the stuff that I have read by him. Have you read Burning Chrome his collection of short stories, (that hideous movie Johnny Memonic is based off one of them  )? The story itself I enjoyed but the movie was awful. He also has one other pseudo triliogy in Neuromancer, Count Zero, and the Mona Lisa Overdrive. It also is more character driven although the technology does play a greater role, as the setting is more of a standered cyberpunk world.

Gibson is excellent. I have only read his earlier stuff (Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive, Burning Chrome) but it is all great.

[IMG] I really like Gibson. Cyberpunk is a great genure both to read and game in. Neuromancer, along with Snow Crash, maybe one of the best SiFi books of the last 25 years. Court Zero also continues in that excellent style. I also enjoyed the Virtual Light series. VL was espically good. The characters and surroundings were compelling and believable. The bridge captures the concept of cyberpunk culture so well. I'd like to see more novels in the cyberpunk seeting focus on character and leave the tech a background. It is only in this was a truly masterful book is writen.

Yeah, I really want to get my hands on burning chrome.. but I don't care for reading in Swedish, and it's hard to find english books here in Sweden. Hmm, I guess it's time to pay a visit to amazon and earn my own avatar.. :p
