Jaheria I think, because of the Harper quests that have to be done in order to complete her romance.

Assuming you can get through the damn thing with it's bugs, that is. :almostmad: (Not that I'm bitter or anything :D )

    Edit:
See this site for a patch which apparently fixes the bugs.

    Maybe that's why then...

Anyways, bugs often appear in the later stages of the romance.

Oh, and Jaheira's is the most rewarding.

IMO the romances aren't in the game to be another source of EXP for the player. They are there to add spice to the game and keep the player from getting bored. So don't try and judge each romance on the amount of EXP it offers. Just my 2 pence :p .

Romancing Jaheira only nets you ONE additional encounter than having her in the party without romancing her.

edit: Sorry, should have added a slight spoiler warning.

The encounter where bandits attack you is the only event that is romance-dependent. All of the Harper encounters occur independently of the romance, although an active Jaheira romance will affect the timing of the Harper events.

[IMG] If you are going to take your romance all the way through Throne of Bhaal - I would definitely vote for Aerie.

(Blackhawk looks nervously around for Tal since he mentioned TOB in the SOA forum)

Of course, you can install Weimer's Ease-of-Use mod (www.weidu.org) and romance them all!

None of the romances are worth the effort, IMO. At a crucial point in the game you'll lose a valued party member. The only reward is a crummy campfire animation while you're supposedly getting it on with your beloved.

You don't think they add a new dimension to the game Chris? You don't think that NPC banter - especially romance banter - keep boredom at bay and kee pyou playing for longer? You don't think they make the game more realistic and really provide an even bigger scope for roleplaying decisions?

Each to his own I guess ;) .

What crucial point? I can only think of a couple of instances during romances that the character will leave the party for good and that's if you tell them to leave or you give a smart ass answer during the dialogues. You run a greater risk of party members leaving because of your reputation being too high or too low, depending on who's in the party.

Sleeping, or not sleeping, with someone does not force them to leave. It may screw the romance but they don't leave unless you tell them to. Even Aerie's romance allows for her to stay with the party unless you tell her, or suggest to her, that she find her own way or you prefer she left. If they are a valued member, it's not likely you'll tell them to leave.

And you get the campfire animation anytime you sleep outdoors; not just when you're getting it on with your beloved.

Perhap's he's talking about Bodhi offing your romance interest. Though that is easily remedied even if they do lose about 150K XP.

When you go to fight Bodhi in chapter 6. It makes things a lot harder, particularly as you end up fighting one of your NPCs as well.
Yes, and when the character that you're romancing says something along the lines of "Alright, let's do it". This, ultimately, is the only reward you get for pursuing a romance to its conclusion (and the campfire animation IS the conclusion). The penalty is heavy: you have to fight your beloved in Bodhi's lair and (s)he misses out on around 150K XP.

Yes, but the method to do it is rather complicated because the code uses odd values of LoveTalk for talks and even values to stop them from firing at bad times (say during the Irenicus fight. Wouldn't that be funny?)

Better just to do this: AdvanceRealTime(3000)

Do that a few times and you'll get the new lovetalk (plus anything else that is time dependent. Don't use this in the Underdark.)
