Just played through as far as Dead nations and got to level 6. Went back to Mortuary area and all my stuff I'd stashed in piles in the "open tomb" building had disaappeared.

So game ruined, and I might start again if I can get over how anrgy i am, but....

Where can you store stuff safely in this game so that you know for sure it will not dissappear?

Put it in any container - a barrel, a box in the marketplace, a shelf in the Mortuary.

Stuff you leave on the ground disappears after 24 hours game time.

I'm not sure your game is ruined -- I don't think there are any "required items" you've come across that will prevent you from continuing the game.

[IMG] Key items won't degrade at all, basically you're out of a bit of coin. Pretty much everything you can lose can be replaced.

Thanks for the clear heads up, Montresor.

Last RPG I dug out was Morrowind, and there its just the opposite - you can leave what you like on the ground anywhere but the game upgrades random stuff in containers when u reach certain levels and deletes anything currently in them.

Urgh - I wish game designers made this issue clear for each game. Rollplaying be damned.

The stuff I lost of any real value was basically the four "armour runes" from the guardian skeletons in the mortuary, about 6 assorted spell scrolls and all the documents, diaries whatever found during first two days.

I thought I would need the scrolls and the runes as it would be hard to find duplicates or very expensive to buy them and I haven't found many more. I'd have to redo about six game days to get them back, so any views on that welcome.

You can recreate any items you need via one of the Torment editors we have up.
