WTF indeed. (Next thing you know, you'll be telling us that Dubya stands a good chance of being re-elected.)

On topic - I just hope that this is just the delusional aspirations of a deposed tyrant, with miniscule support by some fanatical extremists, rather than a realistic possibility.

Edit: joacqin - same thing happened to me; I got the option to Install or Cancel. I just hit cancel, and the right (I hope) page came up anyway.

All those bombs labelled "made in democracy" that fell on their heads a few years ago must have given them second thoughts.

This sucks, it truly does. Next thing you know Saddam will be elected in Iraq.

Oh, hehe, I wasnt paying attention I just saw something being installed I hadnt approved and I kinda panicked.

As for the link the elections have been held and the nationalist party got the most votes. Milosevics socialist party got enough to stay in parliment.

If Saddam would be allowed to run for government in a soon to come election in Iraq I am sure he would get quite a bit of votes. People are stupid, all over the world. As they say, better the evil you know than the unknown.

[IMG] Actually, the Serbians elected a radical party (ultra-nationalist), led by Vojislav Seselj, into their parliament, with the majority of votes. They now literally control the Serbian parliament. And yes, Seselj is in Hague right now, along with Milosevic. And same as Milosevic, he somehow managed a phone conversation with his party around Christmas time, when the guards in Hague obviously weren't doing their job.

I really don't know what's more sad, the debacle in Hague, or Serbians rushing in an even worse replacement for Milosevic than the original is. Things like these really make me think that a population so stupid (forgive my frank personal opinion), deserves all the consequences the politicians they elect bring them. You'd think one Milosevic was enough to last them a few decades, at least. Obviously not. The promise of Great Serbia is obviously stronger than common sense.

Tal, the only bad thing on that one is what do you do if it spills over into your side of the great divide? That's what I would be sweating, anyways.

I'm sure there's plenty of gang violence and intimidation still around there to put just about anyone in office. A democracy isn't just formed in a few years. It can be, but you have to take out the trash on the run.
