[IMG] Last time I played, I was a pure Monk. As some other people on these boards noticed, there isn't much to the Monk after level 20. So now I'm playing with the idea of doing something else after my 20 Monk levels. Note that I'll take my 20 levels of Monk first, no matter what other class(es) I mix it with, I want to get to Perfect Self as fast as possible. I'd also like to be Elven, which means only using prestige classes or wizard classes. The only exception I'm willing to make on this point is playing Human so I can take Sorcerer levels to become a Red Dragon Disciple.

So what do you guys (and girls) think I should take after my 20 levels of Monk? Also note that I'd like to keep using my fists. The only way I'd give this up is for Weapon Focus in Kama if needed by the Prestige Class, otherwise I'll stay with bare-handed.

Wizards should be able to become Red Dragon Disciples (they can in PnP anyway). Monk/Wizard would be a pretty hardcore combination.

Wizards can't become dragon deisciples in HotU, only sorcerers and bards can. So I'd take a few levels as a sorcerer, and be either a pale master or dragon disciple.

If I take RDD, should I continue in RDD or as Sorceror once I reach RDD level 10? (at that level I would be Monk 20/Sorc 1/RDD 10)

IMO whatever seems more cool to you :thumb:

But you'll get 20%XP penality if you take an elf with this build - monk 20/sorc 1/RDD 10. Human wouldnt of course. And elves look sucky :p

[IMG] Maybe you missed the part that I'm willing to make an exception on Elf by taking Human when I become RDD so as not to get the XP penalty. :p

I think that Humans look a little on the heavy side, even if you don't take the extra fat version of the Avatar (which I never take although it probably would be a better reflection of reality :p ). Does anybody ever use those fat avatars?

I find that they're both cool and that's why I can't decide. So the only remaining factor is usefulness. What's more usefull, extra spells or more HP and two more epic feats? The reason I doubt a little about the usefulness of the spells is because I'd get them so late.

If I'd take the continuation as RDD I would take only level 18 in it and add another 21st level to Monk to get tumble skill to 40 and if I'd go with the Sorc then I'd take the full 10 levels in it to get the maximum out of my spells.

Also don't forget that other propositions are also still welcome and I haven't yet decided about the fate of the Monk/Wizard/Pale Master.
