What is with all these sea monster movies of late?

    So the other day I stopped by a Rogers Video, just to look along the New Releases shelves and see if there's anything interesting worth renting. I couldn't help but notice that lately there seem to be quite a few sea monster horror direct to video flicks, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus, Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, Dinoshark, Giant Pirahna, etc.

    I have to admit, I was overcome with a bit of 'do I dare find out just how stupid these movies are?' kind of curiosity. So I did a little Youtube searching, cause I sure as hell wasn't gonna put down a cent for any of this. And sure enough, I find this priceless little gem in no time flat:



    :facepalm: :rolleyes:

    So ... is this a case of ... Pirahna 3D basically sent out the message that you can put out pretty much anything, no matter how cheesy and terrible, and still get a profit out of this? Sheesh ...

    That was awesome. :D I wonder what happens when those things land on land? ... do they start walking or crawling, or are they SOL? If the latter, I admire their commitment to the KILL! imperative. Mega Piranhas just doin' whatever it takes ... gettin' 'er done ... pullin' together for the big win.
