    Pretty slick media manipulation, and disgusting as all get out. Funny, though. Ragusa, if you read this, since you are in the country of origin, any more to add?

    Enlighten me about the law -- the article states that if a person voluntarily donates his body for someone else to eat, there's no law broken.

    I have a hard time believing that.

    Off the top off my head ... there was a case about a cannibal consensually eating somebody and that creep was convicted of murder (manipulating the other into consenting with his eventual murder). Second, the regulations about burials and the disposal of bodies come to mind, and eventually, third, human dignity as a mandatory right (that even you yourself cannot abdicate) under Art.1 of the constitution (i.e there can a case be made that you just cannot donate yourself to be eaten because it would violate your human dignity; it doesn't matter if you want it). Not to mention regulations about what you are allowed to serve in a restaurant, about hygiene etc. pp.

    Yeah, that's about what I thought -- I cannot imagine any civilized nation having a loophole for cannibalism.

    It's a known fact that I don't have much time for vegans, especially the vocal ones who accuse carnivores like me of being evil or stupid, but I have to admit, the stunt was clever and sure got them some publicity.

    Hmmm ... I can't help but find irony that horrible things happening in Germany are simply publicity stunts or acts from deranged individuals while if such things happen in the US it's an obvious effect caused by the moral deterioration of people of America (usually caused by the extreme right). :p

    On the other hand, the "distasteful" comment by the public official was awesome. What a great sense of humor.
