Website that made a case for LOTR characters being low-level

    I'm trying to find a website if it still exists that I saw a long time ago. It made an argument that the characters from The Lord of the Rings were not epic-level characters, but were in fact low to mid level characters.

    I recall a well-made argument that Aragorn/Strider was no more than 4th level in AD&D terms. I think it also made a note that in the first edition, a 4th level fighter was a "hero".

    One case in point was the way they were fighting orcs, and a few orcs weren't too much of a problem, but an army of orcs would easily overwhelm them, wheres an epic-level ranger or paladin could curb-stomp an orc horde.
