-I was just wondering if there are any mods that simply include more varied suits of armor, helmets, shields, etc. I'm constantly appaled at the various ugly things I have to put on my characters for them to stay alive, I know it's not a serious issue at all but it would add to the whole roleplaying thing(Dressing the part for good or evil). This wouldn't necessarily apply for the various unique items(Though maybe you could have some elective mods for changing their appearance if you want to), just give the paper dolls some variation...

-Nothing much of interest there, what I'm looking for is something like the helmet change from BG to IWD/BG2 where you have an item that's just the same, it only looks different. There are a few such items in Shadowkeeper but most of them just mess up the game, I'd really like to see some variety...

There are none that I know of. Can understand why, too, since it would require new models and that would require a professional artist.

Can't you edit the properties of items in SK to change their colour and base-model?

This is known to cause troubles, but give it a try. Just make sure to backup your game before. Perhaps you could just backup the override folder, I don't know for sure.
