    Every area of the world has an urban legend. My home town has the Mothman. The movie The Mothman Prophecies was loosely based on it. Do you have an urban legend for your city or area? Here is a link to ours:

    This is a nice legend from Romania. Some of you have probably heard about it, but maybe you don't know the whole story...

    Does "evil americans" count? Even my past history text books indirectly say americans are evil and they want to dominate the world. (not funny but true)

    @TEEKC

    Yes! EVIL Americans! that sounds SO good!

    TEEKC, is your mother american? (NOT to offend you but just a funny way of asking "are you american" considering your statement that you are from your mother) :)

    @BOC
    It would be nice to visit Dravelis' Cave! :) Who knows... maybe I will...

    One of the classic urban legends is the one where the girl goes out the library to study one evening but forgets her book. She goes back to her room but doesn't want to disturb her sleeping room-mate so doesn't turn on the light whilst she quietly retrieves her book. She then goes back to the library for a few hours. When she gets back to her building, there are police everywhere and it's all cordoned off. She explains who she is and is allowed into her room. Turns out her room-mate has been murdered and written in blood on the wall are the words:

    "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights?"
