    In the original the item files (BOOK03 - BOOK08) were there, but the items were not placed anywhere in the game so could only be obtained by the cheat console ( CreateItem("BOOK0X",YY) where X is a number from 3 to 8 and YY is the number of uses from 1 to 99) or DaleKeeper.
    EDIT: Confirmed it works in EE. New icons too compared to classic. Instead of all the books using the same icon, they are different.

    You can import them into the game but they are useless because they do not work :beer:

    They do work, but if you just did CreateItem("BOOK03") it probably won't work. You instead need to do CreateItem("BOOK03",99) to make sure they have charges.
    If you want to be true to the original you would do CreateItem("BOOK03",1) to make a single charge.
    I forgot if the limit for console created items is 99, 255 (2^8 -1, limit for an 8-bit unsigned integer), 32767, (2^15 -1, limit for a 16-bit signed integer) or 65535 (2^16 -1, the limit for a 16-bit unsigned integer). I know using DaleKeeper the limit was one of the latter two, but I can't recall which either.
    I'd suggest using DaleKeeper and putting some charges on the items.
    There are up to 3 slots for charges, but only the first is used for these books.

    Also note that for other items that can have multiple possible uses, and I mean different effects when used such as the Wand of Fire that can do a 6th level fireball or Agannazar's scorcher, you need to do something like CreateItem("WAND05",99,99), because if you only did "CreateItem("WAND05",99") it would only have charges for the fireball effect.
    Something with 3 possible effects would need to be followed with CreateItem("ItemCode",X,Y,Z), where each variable is the number of charges for each effect. I don't recall what the limits are for the original and never investigated for EE, but see above for the possibilities.
