    They're apparently doing this in two halves, which means we'll have to wait about another two years for Smaug apparently.

    Yeah. they are doing two halves so they can include stuff from the apendicies in LOTR. So the movies will have some Saruman\Gandalf stuff in it. Radagast has been confirmed as well. I think they are trying to flesh the whole story out abit more. Trailer looks great, though. Can`t wait.

    Seeing Cate Blanchett means more Galadriel. I don't recall her in the Hobbit. Though I am sure they are changing the story to their liking. I know sometimes the books don't always completely transfer to the movies, but I would definitely like to see the story as close as possible to the book. And if they are filling in backstory then fine. I just hope he doesn't try to add her to the main story line. It ruins it for me.... kind of like making Arwen the hero that saves Frodo at the Fords. Being a fan of Tolkien since 5th grade, it was a WTF?? moment for me in the theater. I definetly would of liked to have seen Glorfindel the Elflord instead. And Bombadil. And the Wights in the Barrow-Downs. And etc...

    On a more positive note, Thorin and the Dwarves are looking pretty good. Can't wait!
