The Problem with NWN (for me at least)...

The 2 great things about NWN (and probably NWN2 as well) are the ability to create unique PCs (if you use a little creativity) and the thousands of mods available to play.

I like creating new PCs, trying to make each one a new experiment. The drow mod "Hunt Through the Dark" showed me how easy it is to make things seem new by creating new races \ creatures to play. To simulate any inborn talent (like the drow being able to cast "darkness") all it takes is to create an item that mimics that ability.

The problem with NWN though, is..well..both of these things above. With some many PC possibilites and so many mods out there, I hardly ever finsh any mods. Of the 10 or some mods I've tried, I've only finished (or even half-finished) 3. And I've only been playing for a few months!

But there's always something that drags my attention to a new PC idea or a new mod...

Is it just me..and my short attention span?

Heh, I find exactly the same. Haven't uninstalled NWN once since it came out, and still play it quite a bit. I do like to try and finish mods, but yeah, I do often find if I have a few days break, I might stumble across another one that I just have to try! Usually happens when they put out a new review on the Vault.

I usually don't look for anything new until I've finished, unless something blatant pops up that I want to try.

When I first bought the game it took me 2 years to get through the first chapter of the O/C and I only did it to get to the expansions, (which I later found out were stand-alone expacs).

The neat thing about NWN is that if you keep playing a good mod or the game, it changes drastically and feels like an entirely different game.
