This is for those who do not know of our guild, and those who would like more info.

It is our belief that the Elven kingdom as it now stands is only a shadow of what it is supposed to be. Our ancestors, in their foolishness, left our homelands in Faerun in what has come to be known as "The Withdrawal". They did this because of the encroachment of the race called humans and the threat that this imposition held over them. Fearful of an eventual racial war between the Elves and the humans, the Elven Court made the decision that, rather than fight an army that were as numerous as the sand on the seashore, they would retreat to the Isle of Evermeet, or the seclusion of Evereska, and there dwell in the safety of isolation.

This non-aggression policy has had major effects on our people. We have accomplished our objective of isolation. We are not bothered by those not of our race. We have become, however, in the relatively short time since this policy has come into effect, an endangered species. We have swiftly moved from the column of one of the dominant races to the column of the curiosities. Like the Halflings, Dwarves and Gnomes who have gone before us, we are a spectacle, and a subject of scribes and historians.

The purpose of those of the N'Vaelahr is the restoration of all things Elven in Faerun. Rather than sit on some far off Isle content in the fact that we are superior, and therefore no longer live by you, We will take our superiority where it counts... into the faces of those who would dare consider the Elves a subjugated or archaic race. We say the isolationist policy is wrong, and those involved in the Elven Court making this decision and their families are traitors to their race and should therefore be forever banished from among our number, to live amongst the human slime they aided in their act of cowardice. Our desire is the resurgence of the Elves of Faerun back to our original glory, or death in the pursuit of these goals.

Also to be considered is our policy towards the Drow that have taken up residence in Cormanthor. These are the gravest threat to the security of the elven people. We have adopted a total war policy in regards to the dark elves. Any evil aligned Drow that is found within the forest of Cormanthor will be immediately put to death. Any Drow parties will be attacked on sight and their settlements cleansed. We will do our best to become the most proficient killers of Drow in the history of Faerun. Any neutral and good aligned drow, such as the followers of the Dark Maiden will be granted exception from the order. They may live as they always have.

It is our contention that the lands left deserted by the traitors remain Elven lands by birthright.

Any non- Elf (N'Tel'Quessir) currently occupying or plundering the resources of these lands is by definition a squatter and a trespasser. We will not stand for the use of Cormanthyr by any others but ourselves, save for those human dwellings, which pre-date the withdrawal. This allowance also extends itself to those who have shown themselves Elf-minded by their actions and/or vocation. This includes: Rangers, Priests of woodland deities, and Druids. Any members of The Harpers at Twilight are also extended this courtesy. These shall be admitted passage through any reoccupied Elven lands and extended the hand of friendship, regardless of race. We do this not out of a sense of charity, but rather in the interests of self-preservation. For the fact remains that we ourselves must cross human lands, and expect this courtesy returned to us by them.

Any post withdrawal dwellings, businesses, homesteads, etc. shall be given a warning to move themselves to the edge of our territories or beyond. Non-response to this warning shall be considered an act of aggression on their part, and dealt with in the appropriate manner. Killing of innocents will not in any way be our first order of business. Rather, the harassment of the violators in such a way to cause them to move will come first. If after a reasonable amount of time, if they still have not responded, or have at any time responded aggressively, we will continue on to the next logical step, which is confiscation of belongings, and destruction of buildings. If we are met with violence, we will respond with their swift and sure death. If we are met by understanding and empathy but there is a problem with their ability to move, or if special circumstances warrant, we will attempt to help them any way we can.

Travelers and caravans through Cormanthyr will be given some consideration. We will in the future consider extending a closed border state in the nation of Cormanthyr, but will not harass or waylay any on a main road at the beginning of our rule. This policy does not extend to caravans/merchants or travelers originating from or traveling to Sembia. Any Sembians traveling through our woods will be considered enemies of the Elven people. All Sembian belongings, goods and monies are to be considered forfeit to the Elven people upon the Sembians entrance to Cormanthyr. They may leave with their life, but never through Cormanthor, they must return the way they came. If they are aggressive in any way, they will be detained until judgment is made at Elven Court.

This is to be considered in effect immediately upon the date that ALFA goes live by order of the Shadow Lord of Cormanthor.

    [IMG] AORTA and the N'Vaelahr
As the resident faction on these pages I would like to re-state our position wrt the N'Vaelahr.
AORTA believes that no race is superior to another and we celebrate the diversity of the races. Only by respecting, trading and working together will peace and prospertity return to Faerun. We respect the Treaty of the Standing Stone, which neither time nor magic can erase. We wish to preserve both the wild and the 'civilized' parts of the Realms so that none shall encroach on the other. We will fight to preserve the lives and property of the Dalelanders.

Inasmuch as the enemy of my enemy is my friend, I extend the hand of friendship to J'Kin. When fighting the drow (or the Zhentarim of Dragon Cults) he will find us staunch allies and he will find succour at our table.
If he renounces the Treaty and attacks the peace loving Dalelanders he will find us implacable enemies.
I view with some disquiet any suggestion of closing trade routes through Cormanthor. A return to isolationist policies will harm all. Those unable to learn from history are condemed to repeat it.
If we meet 'in game' I am prepared to put my words to paper and sign them.

Isolationist policies were not what brought about the fall of Myth Drannor.
It was the open door policy that did.

We have/will have certain groups we will allow free travel and trade rights to. So, it will not be completely isolationist. It will be an empire, with rules and laws inplace for travel and trade, just like anywhere else.

And we will not harm an innocent Dalesman. That would be breaking the Standing Stone treaty, which is our tie to the legal rights over the land.

    We accept AORTA's offer.

It will be enjoyable to see it played out in- game.

    J'Kin

What brought about the fall of Myth Drannor? The open door policy envisioned by the Coronal was the least of the troubles that hit Myth Drannor. True, there was substantial damage to some of the oldest parts of the city due to dwarves of the clan Tarynstone digging tunnels under the city despite the long-held prohibitions against such actions, but they quickly got what they deserved.

No, despite your obvious dislike for the non-elven races it was the three nycaloths that escaped their dimensional pocket prison that floated invisibly high above Cormanthyr that brought about its fall.
You cannot seriously blame Saeval Ammath or Garnet for their release. In the end, it was the overconfidence that doomed Myth Drannor, not allowing the N'Tel'Quess races access to the city.

Would the City of Song not stand still if it were not for the dismissal of the threat literally hanging over the head of every elf under the mythal?

I have heard your point before, and while it is true that the allowance of the N'Tel'Quess into Myth Drannor did not directly cause its downfall, it is our stance that it was a weakness which caused division and animosity within the city. The effects of this division helped the outsiders and the army of darkness to topple our city.
We of the N'Vaelahr blame a multitude of factors for what has befallen the elven nations. Not the least of which is political jockeying for position, and our own fratricidal tendancies.
These issues are ours to debate and resolve , however. They do not have any relevance to the humans or other lesser races.

We simply wish to correct a wrong that has occured.
The humans are not elves, and have no right in our forest. Just like we have no real right to move our clans into human cities and take them over.
We do not care for the results that have come from the mixture of elf and human, and wish a return to the isolationist policy that served our people so well for millenia.

Thank you for the comment, it was well thought out and far above the normal capacity people show when dealing with us.
