    Shield of the White Crow

You read about the Legend of the White Crow in Gorion's library, though you thought it was just a myth.
The story tells about times when Paladins, Rangers, Druids and Clerics united under the sign of a White Crow.
They faught a bloody battle versus their fallen brothers. On the outskirts of Frozen North, only a handful of
Fallen Rangers and Paladins were still stand in the evil army. when the united army finally were to strike down
them, a white crow appeared and redeemed the Fallen ones. The Crow then flew straight into the shield of the Druid
commander and a new Odren was created.

    Non-evil
    Rangers

    Naturelizer +5

The struggle for balance is every Druids highest priority. When creatures, other than Gods,
play creator and take magical means to create armies, something must be done. The High-Druids of Soldinlessar
therefore forged this blade to stop such actions. The Sword was stolen by a Fallen Ranger however, and
their efforts seemed to have been for nothing.

    Statistics:

    Equipped Abilites:
    5% Magic Resistance

    Special Abilities:
On hit, all Summons must take save vs death or die.

    Requires: 15 strength
    Only usable by:
    Druids (single, multi and dual-class)
    Stalkers (single and dual-class)

    Unholy Avenger +5

Forged by the most twisted evil, this blade was made for one purpose: killing Godly servants.
The wielder of the blade, Rhalion Blackforce, led his army of anti-paladins across the world on a
mindless slaughter. They had no tactic but slaying every Paladin, Druid or Cleric in it's way,
and they were easiely ambushed and destroyed after only a few weeks on the road.

    Statistics:

    Equipped Abilites:
15% Resistance to Slashing Crushing attacks.

    Avoider +3

This sword is extremly light, which allowes fast movement and rapid attacks.
It was the Swashbuckler Faer Windblow personal weapon. His struggle for becoming a
servant of nature, made him and it the friend of Druids and Rangers all over the world.
He was not accepted as a Druid however, so he went out in the sea, killing both pirates
    and nobles to "achieve balance".

    Ring of Light

This is the ring from the famous Half-Elven Vampire Hunter Nurli'Iyll.
He traveled all over Faerûn in his bloodthirsty hunt for the Undead creatures.
Eventually, he was betrayed by his own party, who had been turned to vampires while he was on
a solo mission. The Vampires dared not touch the ring, and how it got here is anyones guess.

    Statistics:

    Infravision

    Special Use: False Dawn once/day
    Not Usable By:
    Mage
    Sorcerer

How about finding this one in the Rouge Stone fight in the Bridge district?

    Abyssal Fury +3:
Enchanting a Katana is a difficult process, since it's already a near-perfect fighting sword.
To enchant one often takes a big sacrifice. A great spirit-warrior might let his soul be forged
into the it, a mage might give away his spellcasting abilities and transfer his powers into the blade.
This Katana, however, has the Soul of a Demon Prince, who, or so the legend tells, was accidently released
when they dug to deep in the Underdark. They managed to capture it however, and they gave him two choices:
go back to the Abyss humiliated or spread terror with this blade in Faerûn forever.

    Statistics:

    Equipped Abilites:
    50% Fire Resistance

    Combat Abilities:
Blood Strike whenever the sword strikes an opponent
(10% chance of causing bleeding on victim, 1D6 damage every turn)

    Flashflood (ring)

Flashflood contains a great tidal wave that threatened to flood a large region of Tethyr centuries ago, by the will of Umberlee to punish the fishermen, who refused to offer her the respect she was due. An un-named archmage, upon spying the rush of water from atop his tower, cast a great spell which bound the tidal wave into this ring. He could not, however, stop the following one, as an annoyed Umberlee would not be so easily dissuaded. Three times a day, a small portion of the tidal wave's power may be unleashed.

Flood - Area same as that of Cone of Cold spell. Fire based creatures must make save vs death at -3 or are destroyed; if they succeed they are reduced to half health. If not fire-based, take 3D6 damage, and must make a save vs parylisation at -2 or fall unconscious for D6 rounds. This contains 50 charges.

    'Harp of the Heartbroken'

Where this Harp came from is not known by many, and who made it is known by less. It it said though that the man who made it had been terribly cursed. Everything he came to love, would be lost. Wether it would be a person or a thing. To love something was to loose something. After years of suffering and depression, he accepted his fate and moved far off into the woods, where he would never love again. He made his Harp, and played the same song over and over for many years. He couldn´t, however, keep from falling in love with his only posession and thus it was lost. The man, who couldn´t take no more, took his life. This is atleast what is said...

Effect: When played, casts "Sorrow" on all enemies in a 30 feet radius.
"Sorrow" causes enemies to loose 3 thac0 and 3 AC.
    Only useable by:
    Bards

I figured those bards might need something useful...

This is my first too, please don't be too harsh....

    Lolth-Blessed Blade

How this finely crafted blade made it to the surface is a mystery, but as you lift the soft cloth off of the blade, it simply absorbs the sunlight with no ill effects. As you examine the green glow emitted from the finely etched runes that run down the handle, a raspy wail echoes through your head, distracting you. After what seems like several moments, the shopkeep asks you to leave the store, it has been several hours.

@Taza: Please tell me its possible?

    -------------------
    Feathered Divine +4
    -------------------

Without doubt, the Feathered Divine glows with the holiest of auras. The hilt is soothing to the touch, neither too cold nor too warm. The handle shapes itself to the hands of its capable wielder. And the blade seems to come to a life of its own.

Bard tales have told the tale of the bold Paladin, Sir Tain and his grand Crusade to smite evil festering in the realms around him. But seldom is heard of his great blade, the one he had kept so dearly to himself, his personal treasure. It was given to him by the Avatar of Torm, long before the Times of Trouble, a holy relic that carries the greatest of holy enchantments, capable of subdue-ing evil in its own grounds. The blade is made of the feathers of many a good and divine being. The Avariel, the Solar and others unknown, all gifting a power that, if used by a good and superior fighter, could dwarf the ever-potent strengths of the great Carsomyr.

Despite its light weight, the wielder feels an ethereal burden upon his shoulders. Reminding him that the power that he now possesses demands the higest degree of responsibilty.
The Feathered Divine will not harm any followers of the Good Willed with its potent powers but will instead, exact its toll on its wielder.

    Equipped Abilites:
    Wielder gains Infravision
Wielder may cast Detect Evil x3/day
With each hit, Feathered Divine causes Fear, Confusion and Stun on the target (no save).
Evil and Neutral targets will receive a 3 point Constitution penalty when hit by Feathered Divine.

Feathered Divine deals 3 points of Constitution penalty to its wielder if it is used on a good-aligned target.

Just a suggestion for those posting, you should include what icon to use, price in stores, and any color changes you might want (like a moonblade glowing blue)

Zephyr Angel - That Two-Handed sword of your is almost as cheesy as the, as Shura would put it, Cheesymor. Almost all enemies in the game is non-good.

Heh heh, well, the Feathered Divine does have its up moments.
But you do realise that Tolgerias and the Silver Dragon, Adalon are Good aligned guys. I think that some guys, for the sake of RP purposes, may want to try and kill some good people with such things. And I think that for once, there should be a penalty for someone who attacks the innocent with a holy blade...

I'm more interested in the fear/confusion/stun. One hit and they're automatically helpless...the wielder can continue to wail on them and they'll never move.

And there we have the cheesyness of Celestial Fury. I don't know how many I've killed because of that Stun ability...Adamantine Golems, Dragons, etc. - it's a VERY powerful ability and 1 sword with it is more than enough ;)

Woo-hoo! Powergamers unite! As we seem to be onto hideously overpowered items that vastly unbalance the game, here's my contribution:

The (What A Complete Bastard) Sword

THACO: +10 (+15 against any enemy you take an instant dislike to)
    AC: sets to -25
+3000% fire, acid, poison, lightning, magic resistance
101% chance of instant kill any enemy you so much as look at
Sets Str, Dex, Con and every other statistic you might care to mention to 25

Location: outside your cell in Chateau Irenicus. Picking it up teleports you instantly to the final battle with Melissan and the Five.

david w , noone forces you to play with these items, noone will hunt your sorry ass down if you refuse to powergame. No need to get hideously immature. All items aren't owerpowered for that matter, a +3 simitar with a bonus of -1 AC ain't no Carsomyr.

If you don't have anything useful to say, don't say anything at all.

Okay, now, to my next creation...

    -----------------------------
    The Gunblade, "Eternal Peace"
    -----------------------------

To the untrained eye, this blade appears to be a funny contraption of perhaps, gnomish designs. But then again, not even the inquisitive gnomes agree that such a marvel was of their crafting. The Gunblade seemed lacking in any holy or magical aura but feels as if it contains a power unlike any other the world of Aber-Toril has ever seen.

Brought from another plain of existence by a powerful sorceress, the Eternal Peace was once wielded by a legendary hero, Squall the Lion Hearted. The Gunblade is made of pure adamantide, but not the same as that of the Drow, this adamntide shines silver, to the brightest ever imagined.
When wielded, it acts and behaves just like any normal two-handed blade. But the difference is apparent to the wielder, the Gunblade posessess a trigger and could be used at the right time to its maximum effect.

Spetznaz, it *was* meant as a joke.

I just noticed that every time this kind of topic pops up, almost every suggested item seems to be hideously overpowered. Put any of them in the game and a 7th level character straight out of Chateau Irenicus would be able to handle the Five.

I just took it a little more extreme...

@ David W: I have to agree with you. Things will get very overpowered and stuff like that. And I will have to say that a little joking around about it is normal. Just like me and my love for casting out Pit-Fiends at every oppurtunity... :D

Anyway, I doubt Taza will look into this anyway, the thread was first created by the Wierd Modmaker in 2003, MARCH!
So, I guess we just put in what crazy ideas we have and immortalise it on the boards. And who knows? Maybe Taza does comes into this, and he puts it up!

And glory me... I have a fancy Gunblade!
And the Pit-Fiends... Never, Ever forget the Pit-Fiends!!!

I'd like someone's opinion on this. I've already made it, a while ago. Is it considered "hideously" overpowered if I create an item from a book? It is one of my favorite items that I've seen or made, partially due to the fact that I didn't just create an overpowered sword, I brought it to BG2 from elsewhere. And it looks good, and feels good, and kills good.

***[well, maybe not really, since it doesn't reveal any plot]***

    Charon's Claw

    (Demonic Longsword +5)
[I don't have the item's description on this computer, so I might edit this post later. Too long to write again, but I like the job I did. Very descriptive.]

    STATISTICS:

    Equipped abilities:
    "Black Light" Infravison
    Non-detection

    Combat Abilities:
Disease on every strike- 3hp/sec for 6 seconds
Ash Walls- 25% chance of weilder becoming invisible and target being blinded for 6 seconds on every strike
    Backstab multiplier +1

    THAC0: +5
    Damage: 1D10+5
    Damage type: Slashing
    Weight: 6 lbs
    Speed Factor: 2
    Type: Long Sword
    Requires: 14 strength
    Not Usable by:
    [The usual non-longsword guys]

    -
    -
    -

Now to explain the abilities, as justified by the book:

"Black Light" Infravision: The sword can emit a black light to illuminate dark areas. Infravision is the equivalent in BG2.

Non Detection: The sword makes the weilder invisible to infravison-using creatures. I can't really do that, so I gave it this ability.

Disease upon every strike: The most prominent fact about Charon's Claw is that if you touch it without the gauntlet, it will kill you, unless you have enourmous will power. According to the book, even a single nick will fester and grow and can prove to be fatal.

Ash Walls: Another significant ability of Charon's Claw is to emit ash walls, cutting up the room with thick curtains of ash, effectively hiding the weilder and temporarily blinding the opponent

Backstab: More effective backstabs because of the above abilities, namely invisibility from infravison, and the ability to backstab even in the middle of a dual, when the opponent knows you're there, because of the ash walls.

I love this damn blade. It has the red blade and white hilt of course. Some things I've been thinking about:

Adding that the blade would kill you when you equip it unless you first equip the gauntlet, for obvious reasons to those who have read the book. This is possible, I would create an entirely new spell that kills instantly, and the sword would have it as an equipped ability, and give the gauntlet protection vs that spell, all in order to avoid giving protection form all death magic.

-1 to all saves. Charon's Claw is sentient, and arrogant. It can't do anything to you if you wear the gauntlet, but I'd like to balance the weapon a bit.

Oh yeah, and the gauntlet is basically "Gauntlet of Mirroring"

Lastly, I was thinking (oh no!) of Cespy combining it with, say, Blackrazor (imagine that for a second), or a simple sword of flame to add fire damage. It is a demonic weapon after all. And add a control circlet to remove the problem that Charon's Claw is supposed to kill you without the gauntlet.

Overpowered, maybe. But I love it.

[Edit: Oh yes, and I'd put it on Demogorgon.]
[Edit again: Er... Demogorgon never actually *dies*, does he?]
