There was just too many small time bosses for it to be anyone else.
As far as defeating Melissan goes it really depends on your party. (I don't remember if there was a thread about this or not)
    Who do you have?

As a matter of fact, I started a thread on Melissan a while ago...i believe it was called 'Amelyssan - Help!' You could probably post on it here and delete this topic to save space.

    EDIT: Linked to it.

you summon some helpers, have your healing potions in check. Let some protective magic go up, and then start the slaughter.

Remember to save the game after each time you defeat her

    [EDIT]
And if you listen to Gromnir in the beginning of the game, he gives away the whole story... *sigh*

Dragon, you never noticed that there were no options to even talk rudely to her? No way to kill her? She *had* to live through to the end.

And she's a real pain in the neck to kill. Thrice.

Thrice? Wasn't it four times? Once when you first arrive, again after the 1st platform, again after the 2nd, and finally after the 3rd???
