CNN has cast a concerned look upon the state of Atari. As Mystra would say, the prospect looks bleak. No good titles on the soon to release list. Still generating losses. Trouble filling top executive positions. Is this the beginning of an end?

Fourth-quarter losses for the firm, reported earlier this week, came in at $9.1 million – better than last year's $17.3 million loss, but hardly confidence inspiring. And the comments from company executives in the conference call following the earnings announcement weren't exactly upbeat.

"When we can stop shooting ourselves in the foot ...Atari's going to be a spectacular company," said Diane Baker, chief financial officer.

Bruno Bonnell, chairman and interim chief executive, didn't give investors reason to cheer either. "We remain optimistic about Atari's future," he said, "but at the same time we recognized the challenges ahead."

Big things and big changes don't happen when things look the worst possible. They come when things have started getting better, so the possibility is proven. That's how revolutions happen in history, perhaps that's also a herald of change for Atari. For the better... or not. Find out on your own at CNN.

No one said they weren't going to make BG3. If anything, they'd be eager to make it, considering it's going to sell even if it's total crap.

Well that's not very uplifting info about BG3. Lets hope that Atari doesn't get BG3, because they would have no motivation to do a good job. Just get it out.

The BG series wrapped up nicely, I thought. Any additional games are just going to be last ditch efforts to milk the franchise for all it's worth. I'd rather see the series end on a high note.
