I just installed a new software (Doomsday Engine 1.9.0 beta5.1), but I can't start the application. Running the main executable gives me the following error message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002)". I've done some research on Google and got wildly diverging theories and no real solution. From what I understand this is the result of something going wrong with the manifest (whatever that is) of a program compiled with Visual Studio 2005. After that nothing makes much sense: it's supposed to be an XP SP1 problem but people with SP2 have it as well; some people don't see the problem for a while and then it suddenly starts happening even though they claim nothing's changed with their configuration; it's supposed to be something that happens only if you have Visual Studio 2005 but not .NET 2.0, except I have neither. Most solutions people have advanced don't seem to work (and they didn't for me). Anyone knows what this error is really about and how to fix it (on my end if possible)?

AFAIK you can't fix it on your end - wait for the next beta.
