    Ive recently improved my computer again. This time it has been fitted with a 128MB graphics card, the Prophet 9000 or something like that.

    Anyway, I started playing BGII again, and for some reason, the graphics are fuzzy, making some of the text to be unclear, and the markers, such as the rings below your character, are so dull that it makes it impossible to actually see them in certain conditions.

    Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what is the cure for this ailment. Oh, and yes, this IS BGII-ToB related, as it does the same thing with ToB as well :p

    Prophet? Never heard...

    Please do this:
    Start->Run->dxdiag

    From there, post the OS, graphics card name and sound card name.

    One thing, if your Prophet is in fact ATI Radeon card, try with lowering resolution and/or color depth inside BG2config or wait for new Catalyst drivers.

    The Hercules 3D Prophet 9000 is indeed a Radeon based card. The ATI Radeon 9000 to be specific.

    C-media?
    Um, you forgot to post the OS. This card (onboard chip in most cases) will cause you random system crashes on Win2K/WinXP if you don't upgrade the driver, available here:
    http://www.cmedia.com.tw/download/e-cdl8738_w2000.htm

    Anyway, if the sound driver doesn't "behave" on your machine, please do this:
    Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices->Audio tab->Advanced button (Sound playback section)->Performance tab

    Then set the hardware acceleration slider to "None".

    Oops, sorry. My OS is Windows XP home edition 5.1 (build 2600)

    Its only the graphics that are the problem, the sound works fine and the game hasn't crashed....yet.
