[IMG] Hello. I'm wondering about Storage Containers for the Items my party collects but does not use except for special occasions.

What locations are the best place to store these Items?

    Thanks!

It's all good, stuff will pretty much stay where you leave it.

I like to leave stuff in my stronghold though, that way I remember where everything is.

The other thing you can do is leave things where they are needed, and mark your map by right clicking, leaving a note for yourself as to where your swag is.

Outside the Copper Coronet are two tables and a barrel.
I put the magic stuff on one table, mundane supplies (arrows, bolts, etc) on the other table and junk (bits left over from quests I have completed, e.g. keys) in the barrel.

This location works best for me because I often go back to the slums (Copper Coronet, several quests, etc.) and the tables are near the entrance where the party first appears on the map - less walking.

I use the Copper Coronet for this.
It has 4 storage spaces in the main hall itself.
South: a rectangular table near the entrance.
    SE: a chest near Anomen.
East: a rectangular table near the stairs.
NW: a round table near Hendak.

You can thus space out and arrange your possessions so you know where what type of equipment is.

Its a good idea yes to do so , put pieces of weapons there that arent complete yet. But after the underdark its quite useless, you have that bag with unlimited space ( if you installed the patch somewhere in the BG2 SoA download section of this site ). So why bother going all the way back from time to time

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER: Do NOT store any items in locations that will change area numbers at some time in the game! For instance, if you start storing stuff in the chest in the playhouse before your bard gets the stronghold, you will lose everything you put there once you do get the stronghold....

The best place I've found is the Adventurers Mart. Loads of bookcases to store everything you like.

I usually put stuff in the slums since there are so many places to put stuff there... I don't like having to put things in a stronghold since all strongholds require at least two screens of loading.

    Think like an RPG'er...
Where do you want your stuff to be?
Maybe a place where nobody else can take it perhaps :)

Heh... As soon as i had anything of value i would sell it, so no need to worry for containers...

Otherwise i would use a Bag of Holding for the weapons that i 'maybee' could use... ;)

This brings up an interesting question:

Do you ever need that "leftover from quests" stuff (like keys, scrolls, scraps of cloth)? Or can you just drop it afterwards and be done with it?

Like everyone else, and being a certifiable packrat, I dump everything in my stronghold, including stuff from finished quests. Once in a while I will go through everything and if I think that I'm truly done with an item, I'll trash it or see if I can sell it.

Just remember to pick it up again before you head into Suldanessalar, because you do not have the chance to go back once you battle Irenicus at the Tree of Life and you cannot go back when/if you start ToB.

I use the Copper Coronet, and for role-playing I always drop off my extra party members they're in front on the table, to guard it when I am gone. Sometimes I could have 3 there. It is nice to have all your stuff and most of the party members in the same room.

You dont need much of the left over quest stuff at all, but how could you throw away such items as the orcish cook book in the Windspear hills quest...or what if you wanted to revisit a place and you need a key to get in etc, etc.

As for storing stuf I would usually store spare amunition as each arrow, bolt, dart etc takes up one part in your bag of holding. as stated above always mark the spot where you dropped it and remember the map it was on so that you dont have to travel to each part of town to find what you need. Keep stuf that you are likely to need (dragon, giant and other racial effective items) in your bag of holding.

    Why keep stuff at all?
Okay, some different weapons for different fights. But why save old keys and stuff when you wont need them again?
Bullets and arrows... Well, personally I cant play without the "Endless Stacking". So basically I sell everything I dont need which is everything except the stuff I got equipped. Although, if you haven´t played the game that many times yet you have yet to learn what items are needed...

God, I wish I were there again, all the things to discover... :)

I'd the the Copper Coronet or the merchants's area in the Bridges district, primarily because you've got an place to ID, sell, store and sleep all in one location so you don't have to run around everywhere.
