I've jut been browsing the web and found out that it will only cost me aprox £80 a year to play. Thats alot less than I was expecting, so I was wondering if anyone has played and recommends it. And please don't tell me to get City of Heroes instead - I want Star Wars dammit :p

An alternative would be Final Fantasy XI but I have no idea about that either, and can't find it in the shops.

Haven't heard anything really good about Galaxies, although it is coming out with an addon dealing with flying spacecraft which is really cool. Have heard great things about FF XI. It's pretty much the top dog of the newest although everquest should suppplement it since it is designed for everyone who tried EQ and didnt like it. Much better graphics and broader appeal.

Just for fun you can read this game review.

Anyway i heard Galaxies have a lot of things left unfinished and while i like Star Wars world, i still prefer more fantasy setting. That's why i'm waiting for FF XI. Together with some other friends we're gonna hit that :)

I have them both, and I prefer Galaxies for sure.

Pretty much all you can do in FF11 is killing stuff, and NOONE roleplays.

In Star Wars Galaxies you don't even have to kill stuff, you can be a lot of non-combat professions.

You can explore various planets like Tatooine, Dantooine and Naboo.

You can play various different professions(Pistoleer, Image Designer, Dancer and so on)

They will be changing the method to unlock Jedi soon, giving it a much more "star warsy" feel.

Pretty soon it will be possible to get spaceships, and engage in huge spacebattles.

You should buy Star Wars Galaxies :tie:

I played galaxies for about a year, and then i thought to my self: How long have you been playing this game? Right, and you've achieved what?...nothing...at all. Yeah, i don't play it anymore. It is good though. I'll be waiting for FF XI personally though.

    Quite enjoyed that review :D

I think I'll go with Star Wars. If anybody has good reasons not to buy it - I won't be getting it until mid July, so let me know. FF games should be 1 player only in my mind and the classes seem a bit boring. thanks guys.
