[IMG] This topic would be for spoilers and information directly from the campaign book T1-4 "The Temple of Elemental Evil".

Information on the World of Greyhawk and other campaigns like "Scourge of the Slavelords" and "Queen of the Spiders" should be posted in another topic.

Temple of Elemental Evil is a campaign which, and I'm quoting from the backside of the book:
The Village of Hommlet (includes the Ruined Moathouse) which was one of the very early modules - is the start of this campaign and this is where you go from approximately 1st to 3rd level.

no, but the thread of modules that spring from this is a pretty big spoiler. Queen of the Demon-Web Pits, Vault of the Drow ... those were some pretty intense modules.

    *spoiler* perhaps ....

That huge robotic Lloth would be a real pain to take out. Also, the map in Vault of the Drow was mind-boggeling to say the least. Not sure if it was allowed, but our party would repell from level to level. Kinda dumb flirting with the abyss, but its just a game ;) !

    :good:

[IMG] This post contains what I would consider minor spoilers.

    Chapter headings from the book

Part 1: The Village of Hommlet
    Interlude: Hommlet to Nulb

Part 2: Nulb and the Ruins

Part 3: Dungeons of Elemental Evil

Part 4: Nodes of Elemental Evil

    Appendices

    Quote from "Players Background"
Quote from "Notes for the Dungeon Master"

well, in the original releases, there was no linkage between the 15 modules they eventually made into a single campaign. GDQ was a linked set, but the A and T series were not hooked together. Even in the final version, there is no real thematic link between the Temple module and the Slavers/Giants. The incident that links them is purely incidental.

Anyway, some people are demanding spoilers, but what do you want to know? I could spill the entire plot of the original module series if you want. Obviously, there are tons of 'tactical' spoilers, considering the adventure covers two dungeon locations (a small manor area and a 4 level underground temple complete with additional pocket dimensions for added fun). There are around seven factions (depending on how you count) among the bad guys and the good guys aren't really all on the same team, either.

[IMG] Small question: Is it 'the Temple of Elemental Evil' that includes Tharizdun, or is it 'Return to ToEE"?

It must be the Return to module, he is not part of the original. There was an old module "Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun" or something like that, but it was unrelated to this adventure.

It is not "Return to TToEE" and neither has it anything to do with Tharizdun.
