    [IMG] Hello!
ive searched the forums and different sites but I haven´t been able to find anything.
What I wonder is if the spell progression for bards continue after level 23 or if that is a built in cap in AD&D ?

(I have never played PnP D&D ,other more interesting fantasy rpg´s around)

otherwise I will continue playing my flamboyant swashbuckler.

[IMG] I think you've get a few things mixed up... Clerical and druid spells only go up to level 7. (You get more of them as you level up, but their level doesn't go past 7 ever).
Though in ToB some of the quest spells and high level abilities you get will be even more powerful than the normal spells you can cast.

    uh!
I guess I better clarify myself.
What I wondered was if the spell progression for bards continue after they have reached level 23. (my blades level, not spell level)

In other words, do a bard ever get (mage)spells from level 7 and up? or, will they get more spells from every level?

(will my blade ever be able to cast black blade of disaster :)

Doh! Sorry about that. I'm obviously under too much stress lately because I wrote that whole response as if you wanted the info on druids. (I read bard as druid).
Happens to the best of us...

As for your question, I think they can't go over level 6. But I'm not 100% sure about this.

    thanks anyway!
I do now what you mean about stress though. I just printed my master of science thesis.

(BG2 almost spoiled it last winter, but now Im ready for a new game:)

I guess I have the same problem as many others. Since I have played through BG2 once, almost through another time and am a member of restarters anonymous I would like to do it right the last (?) time.

Because of that I tend to think to much over what to play instead of just playing!

maybe I should just do it the groovey way, use shadowkeeper to get a blade/swashbuckler dualclass, yieepikaaye !!

its just not fun to play if you now that after a certain level you have reached a barrier.
(hence my curiosity about bards after lvl 23)

    godnite everybody

Bards are limited to maksimum level six spells.

Edit: Why am I being teased on the chat for this post?

will they get more spells per level for spells 1-6 or is it a definite wall at 23 and the spell chart will stay that way?

    (5,5,5,4,4,4)

I guess a have to let go and get some coffe instead.

    bye

I extracted this data from DEFAULT.BIF file after a long sweat and then I discovered that I can do it more easily with Infinity Explorer... I'm a fool.

    Nm, here it goes:

    Code:

This means that bard can't learn spells hihger than level 6 spells. By levelling up in bard class, only number of available places to memorize spells is increased.

And sorry for putting it as a code - lame UBB AI would kill spaces if I didn't put it like that and table would be unrecognizable and hard to understand.
