All along the watchtower by Bob Dylan. Or the Hendrix version.

I like Hendrix better as well.

    Anyway, here's the next one:

B.B. King and U2 actually, but your guess is close enough.

I'm not sure how well-known this song is outside of Canada, but it's fantastic, so here goes:

    [song title]
    I know you're out there
    You're in hiding
    And you hold your meetings
    We can hear you coming
    We know what you're after
We're wise to you this time (wise to you this time)
We won't let you kill the laughter

No, but it is a Canadian band (although that much was probably obvious from my previous post).

Early hint - the lead singer from the band went on to have a reasonably successful solo career.

Jag! Way to go, man! You've made me proud. :D

I was a bit concerned that this one might have gone unguessed - non-Canadians might not be familiar with it, and the Canadian SP members might be a bit too young to remember it.

    Anyway, you're up.

    Since Bruce Springsteen, Madonna,
    Way before Nirvanna,
    There was U2, and Blondie,
    And music still on MTV...

    IJ here :)

By silverfish imperatrix whose incorrupted eyes
sees through the charms of doctors and their wives

By salamander drake and the power that was undine
rose to claim Saturn, ring and sky

By those who see with their eyes closed
you'll know me by my black telescope
