[IMG] The likely release date for "A feast for crows" has now been adjusted to September - US, and FEB 04 for UK edition per Amazon.

A quick check on Mr Martin's website confirms that it's still WIP, and that he's not sure when it will be finished.

I had kinda geared myself towards a late spring release.

I gather the final volume will be called "A dance with dragons", but this may just be a projected title for now.

Still, at least these are worth waiting for unlike the never ending WoT.

I'm with you, Viking -- WOT has some good stuff, but it just doesn't hold a candle to SoIaF. Part of me wishes Martin would hurry up, but another part wants him to take his time and keep up the high quality.

Exactly. Quality...good characters ... its all good.

A Dance with Dragons ... I can't wait. I've really loved the way they've built her (can't remember the dragon-girl's name) from a scared girl to a bold battle leader. I'm kinda hoping her and John Snow hook up and rule the world together.

    It could happen! :good:

Agreed. This is my favorite fantasy series. Well worth the wait.

From the above replies it seems like he's going to keep that popularity, and if he's not that good then he covers it up well :p

Martin has been around for quite a while, though this is his first solo series. He can afford to take his time and do the story right.

BTW, Mathetais, you are referring to Dany? I'm guessing that you're right on with her and Jon Snow -- they will end up together, he being the Ice and she being the Fire.
