I have tried to install the official patch and put it in the override folder, but on checking it I find it says Im using version 2.0.229(something. I am trying to install another patch but Im told the version should read v2.0.23035 or 37.

Does the official patch go in some other folder besides the Override folder?

What do mean by putting it into the override folder? All the files from the patch are installed into their folders, the actual patch file doesn't mean anything.

The patch should be an executable. Just run the file and it does all the work for you.

Well, running it seeems to be the problem. When I double click on it to run it, it tells me its not a valid win32 application. Thats why I stuck it in the override folder hoping that would work.

Is the fact that Im running windows xp have anything to do with it?

    Dust,

some sites (like Gamesdomain) ZIP the file but usually it an executable. It may be that your file got corrupted during download.

I'd suggest downloading it again from the Bioware site and rerunning it.
