    Basically, the gith do not like to have a silver blade floating about and they will send a team to take it from you. You will get the hilt by defeating the team.

    OK. Thanks. I've never ditched the blade but have never gotten jumped by the gith either :confused: I'll have to check the docks again when I get there.

    I'm pretty sure it's not limited to the docks as I have dealt with the Gith in, at least, the Promenade. It's after you get back from the Underdark and you may need to wander a bit.

    I think I may have had that encounter in the Promenade also, come to think of it. It usually happens in the docks for me though.

    I pulled the description I gave from here: http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/cromwellsforge.php. It sounded accurate enough, but it seems there is at least one other place it can happen.

    I think the encounter happens in the first larger area of Athkatla you enter in Chapter 6. But some may be excluded - I don't remember having this encounter in the Government District.

    It nomally happens to me on the promenade, somewhere in the centre part, when travelling from the lower entry to the Adventurer's Mart. But that's probably because that's the first area I go to after the Underdark. I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen in the graveyard, though.
