This is the first scenes I have ever seen from this game, and it looks so extremly good! It almost looks like the Infinity Engine .

 

They look great indeed and I'm really looking forward to this game. I hope it will bring some sort of revival in me. It has been a while when a really great RPG has been released.

 

I'm still looking forward to this game on the basis of it's gameplay innovations, but the screenshots disappointed me.

In particular, the headshots looked very amateurish - as if they were done with a box of crayons.

I have always enjoyed IE RPGs, and I know that graphics really are the icing on the cake as far as RPGs are concerned: This engine promises to be a step in the right direction in many respects.

But one of the great things about IE games was the unified style each one had - be it the clean style of BG, the rough-edged moodiness of IWD or the weirdness of PS:T.

At the moment ToEE just looks scruffy.

 

Yes... really nice screenshots. Scenery and spell animations were great. The character portraits looked also good. Very promising.

There's also a movie ... is it worth registering for Gamespot to see it?

 

I looked at the screens too and I really want to get my hands on that game. Looks kind of like a 3D Infinity engine game. I'm definately gonna get this game.

@Mathetais: No, it isn't worth it if you're only gonna check on ToEE. But if you're gonna keep track of other games, then it's probably a good choice to sign up.

 

The game looks cool and I'm looking forward to it. Looks very Infinity-Engine-ish, doesn't it?

Not to nitpick, but is it just me or has the quality of portrait artwork seriously gone downhill since BG1? These just don't look that impressive for such a hyped new game.... but maybe it's just me.

 

I have to agree with Tal, it does look a lot like PoR.

I hope it doesn't play like PoR.

I just watched the video... I sooo have to get this game. I hope that they won't wait too long to come out with an expansion that raises the level cap beyond Character Level 10 though (after playing IWD, BG2, NWN and IWD2 this seems like a low level to end at... but if its as good as it seems like its going to be, I have no doubt that the expansions and sequels will be created).

As far as the cartoonish Portraits are concerned, as long as there is an option to Import your own, this should prove to be fairly inconsequental... except maybe for where NPC party members are concerned :/.

 

Actually I very much liked portraits that appeared in the short movie. But the ones in the screenshots don't look too good. I wouldn't really mind if all the portraits were made in a sort of manga/anime style, as long as their style is the same relative to each other and looks good to the eye.

Yeah theese screenshots look lovely. I just wish I had something to play it on.

 

Tal, I just read the interview again and didn't see this part (unless I'm really blind). Have you just given us a sneak preview of Part 2 of the interview?
