[IMG] I was just wondering if anyone has seen the new film and whether it's really as bad as people say? I loved the cartoon (at least till Scrappy came along).

[IMG] Its not out here yet, but the trailer looks pretty dire. Freddie Prinze Jr. looks albino and Scooby himself seems pretty cruddy. It may yet surprise us, though; Rowan Atkinson is a villain in it and Matthew Lilliard seems a decent choice for Shaggy. No sign of Scrappy either, which can't be a bad thing. Plus, I always did think Thelma was pretty fine .... :hahaerr:

What! No commentary about the kung fu fighting Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar).
PS: Who is Scrappy? Is it the little dog?

To paraphrase the Onion's movie review:
"What's wrong with this picture? The answer: everything! It's a friggin' live action Scooby Doo movie, for Christ's sake."

I haven't seen the Scooby Doo movie, but my aunt said that she walked out half way through it. And she loved the Scooby Doo cartoons.

[IMG] The fact they made this movie at all is only proof that not enough people on Hollywood have the ability to say "No, that idea won't work." What were they thinking? I normally try to have an open mind about movie but the acters in this one where looking around as to say "why are we here? What is going on." The fact that it made over $100 million is either proof that I am an atipicl person or Americans truly have no taste in films these days.

"the lesbian kiss has been edited-out,"

    Ummmmmmmmmm...

    Ok.

So anyway, I've not really seen much about it. I think I've caught the trailers for it.
What's the storyline? And who's playing Daphene?

Obviously, the Van broke down and they are investigating mysterious lights in some really old mansion. And the ghostly lighthouse on the cliff just seems to mysteriously be working again, after 100 years. And the ghost that prowls the beach/mansion grounds are keeping all the tourists away now.

But, what's the storyline aside from that?

Daphne's played by Sarah Michelle Gellar and I think that explains the question bout the lesbian kiss as well...
