    I just introduced my boys to Princess Bride a couple of weeks ago. Sad that he's dead. On the other hand, he lived to age 83. I'd call that a pretty full life. We all have to go eventually. Seems like he had a pretty good run! :)

    I just checked Wikipedia and I see that Columbo started in 1968, well before I was born, so no wonder I have never seen it.

    It run on a 2 hours basis most of the time till 2003. 3 to 4 times a season i think

    The fact that it run in a movie format, was one of the best things about the show. Cannot imagine how watered down it would've been if they made it a weekly thing!

    If you get your hands on some episodes..or all jump at the opportunity.

    Seriously, do you own a TV set? It's literally impossible to watch TV even only occasionally and never see any of the Columbo reruns. It's as bizarre as saying you've never seen Murder, She Wrote. Pretty much like saying you drive a car but you've never seen any car accidents. Or even heard of them! :shake:

    I promise I am not making this up. I have never heard of or seen Columbo and nobody I have asked around here has either. Maybe it hasn't made it to New Zealand yet.

    I would put Columbo as at least in the top three of all television and movie detectives. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of one I prefer more in terms of being a serious detective yet also being entertaining and witty. I mean, Peter Sellers was funnier, but he wasn't really trying to be a real detective, merely a parody of one.

    Falk's skills were legendary. He will be missed.

    On a side note, there are no re-runs of Columbo on my television lineup at this time. That depressed the hell out of me. There are a couple of retro stations but they don't do the retro I would like them to do. I'd like to see original Hawaii 5-0, Magnum, Dragnet, Perry Mason, and that sort of stuff. Instead I get Night Court, Three's Company, Good Times, and even worse stuff.
