I have a rant! It's not a serious rant, but I'm still a little irritated about the whole thing.
You know what I hate? When my 'no-he's-not-my-husband-we're-not-getting-married-stop-asking-me-about-it' comes home and has something to tell me, so instead of telling me he does this over-dramatic theatrical thing that slowly leads up to what he wants to say, and there's about 10 seconds where I kinda want to claw his eyes out. For instance:
"Hey, you left the stroller outside." "Oh yeah! I forgot that I left it out there to dry." turns into *long involved sigh. He stares at me for a minute an then puts his hand to his mouth and sighs again.* I ask "What is it?" I get another long sigh in return. Finally he replies "Yeah, I want to say something." He pauses and I repeat my question. I get another look and then he responds "You left the stroller outside."
    Ugh.

A colleague of mine, from Romania, is going back home, departing on Friday, after working for four months at our company. Last week we, and two other colleagues, went out for a few beers and something to eat. She didn't speak more than ten words. Maybe twelve. Few days later she started to e-mail me, and ask me for advice on 'where to buy souvenirs', which I will of course offer. And dropped that she is a Gemini, which I happen to be as well - not that I cared about zodiac signs. Alas, there are worse topics.

So tomorrow after work we're going for a stroll in the city basically, because after work I doubt we will find too many souvenir stores still open. Well, I have the evening off, I don't mind.

The weird thing is that basically all I did to deserve that honour is to be friendly and have a chat here and then. Not that she ever said anything. Now she is cute, a little shy (though I suspect that's just because she doesn't dare speak English), but she is not really my type (too decorous for my tastes, but I might be mistaken). About the last thing I want is another long-range relationship. I had enough of those, and considering that I like here, not more, that is a non-issue anyway. I certainly do want to have a nice evening. Ah well, I'll see.

So... I walk into my PC Shop class today, and the hardware tech specialist wanted to know if he could have my opinion on a personal matter. The basic question was along the lines of "Am I justified in being angry that my wife lied to me about testing her blood sugar levels?" (IMO, he has every right to be upset about that). After listening to him for a few minutes, I realized that what he was talking about was a marriage that is steamrolling into divorce.
That's one thorny bush of a conversation to walk into, especially at school.

Why would she lie about her blood sugar levels?

I'm not sure, and since he was notably distressed about the whole thing, I didn't poke too hard. My thought is that she is not following the diet/medication regimen she should be, and is in denial that it is hurting her.
He mentioned they are getting ready to separate "temporarily", but I get the feeling I'm going to be hearing about a divorce soon.

The whole thing caught me completely off guard, since neither of us has offered personal information to the other. Methinks I was the nearest sympathetic female ear...

Argh, ok, so today I found out that my ex-girlfriend (girl number 2 if you were paying attention :p ) hooked up with one of my best friends... not while we were dating, but right about the time she said she's been wanting to get back with me... it hurts a lot. Of course, I can't say anything because I hooked up with someone as well, but still, it hurts. All the more reason not to tell my ex, because it will hurt her to... I guess it's more that she lied to me about it... she doesn't seem to have any qualms lying to me :( Urgh, I don't know... it's very disheartening and it makes me not want to get back together with her ever-so-slightly. I mean, I do, but this is just another thing on the downside of it.

I don't know whether or not to think that 'ignorance is bliss' or 'ignorance may be bliss, but it's still ignorance', if you catch my drift.

I had a pleasant evening at the riverbank, and after I heared some talk about wanting to have children, lots of them, and marry, and all, I'm happy I'm drinking this glass of buttermilk alone :1eye: (50% true) I made clear that I do not want a relationship (100% true) {with her (100% true)}. Too decorous indeed. And I sold it without being an a**hole. I think.

Saber, Saber, you're better off without lies in a relationship. I think I'd rather stay single forever than forever put up with lies, given the choice.

True, but I was talking with her about trust in general, and I do believe she trusts me completely and wouldn't lie to me... unless it would hurt me. That is what I think she is doing - trying not to hurt me. Which I can agree with, because I am doing the same thing.

And I like her way too much for these... actions (on both parts) to drive me away. I would rather put it all in the past and focus on today.

So, moral question (i know this will seem a tad early) but do i persue someone that is already in a relationship, soley placed on the fact that i thought they were hitting on me in the club?

Personally, I would stay away from that until they are out of the relationship... getting involved will just hurt both the people in the relationship. It's not fair to the person who is dating your interest, and it kills to have your significant other flirt with other people, especially in front of you. So unless you know she is the love of your life, it would probably be better if you stayed out until she is free.

Dalv - Leave well alone if she's spoken for. That's the rule.

Put yourself in the guys position.

Dalveen, I second what Saber said.

Besides, you have no guarantee she wouldn't do the same on you if she were in a relationship with you. And would you really like a girlfriend who flirts with others behind your back?

All girls do that to some extent, Chev. As long as it goes no further than harmless flirting, I couldn't give a crap.
