    Great! Crazy driving men even in here - Sheesh

    OK so I don't seem to have problems attracting men - but I don't want the ones I'm attracting - dirty old geezers and horny young guys - stupid ex-football players strung out on crack (ok well only one of those and he was younger than me) extra chubby mall guy who looks at me with puppy eyes (10 years younger) - creepy ex mall security guy who slimed me with his eyes. Crazy druid guy who's way older and quite cool but like I said way older and also crazy. Also crazy druid guys thirty year younger hopeful lesbian girlfriend who likes me more than him.

    WHERE THE HELL ARE THE MEN I WANT TO DATE .... seriously. I think all the good men are living in different countries than me.

    End rant again - sorry I have to get this out of my system ...

    I agree... but then again I had my share of crazy women before I found the one I am currently with that compliments me completely... so I can say from experience don't give up hope... :) there is someone out there for you that will fit you just right...

    So funny: we've been doing literary figures with my 8th graders, and one of them is puns. One of the students used that one as an example. I think it's great! I like puns in general though, particularly if they creep up on you.

    The best most recent example, though, is from my creative writing class. I had a student write a parody about the literature studied in our school, and she referred to Billy Budd as a great oeuf d'art.

    For those of you who don't know French, there are a couple of common French expressions: oeuvre d'art (work of art) and chef d'oeuvre (masterpiece). What the student actually wrote, though, was "egg of art." It fits Billy Budd so perfectly. I must have laughed for about 5 minutes straight after reading that and realizing she'd done it deliberately. I just saw this version of the book Billy Budd as a huge egg.
