The question is concerns my Lerrahud game, however, it applies to all who are playing solo as well as writing stories or "accepting the 966666 challenge."

The question - after you hit the XP cap, is it acceptable, Chapter 6, to go back and "pick up" NPCs to complete quests that you would otherwise not even attempt - for instance, Firkrag has kicked Lerrahud's butt so many times, that I would just pass on it storywise at this point... But, since he is still there.... what about "hiring" allies for this one battle, then turning them loose?

Would that ruin the story/challenge? Lerrahud would gain the loot but not th eexperience... I am thinking specifically of the Red Dragon Armor....

Opinions? Comments? I am only looking for responses from those either currently playing solo or accepting "the 966666 challenge."

As a loyal reader, I reluctantly vote that you not take NPCs in Lerrahud's party. Usually I find the tales much more interesting with the NPCs and their interactions in them, but Lerrahud's challenge was to see if a fighter with his crappy stats could successfully beat the game solo. The answer is really looking like 'yes' at this point... but if he hires on NPCs to let him win a fight and acquire an armor he otherwise couldn't, I feel like we'd never really know.

Of course, it's your game, so in the final balance do whatever's fun.

Yeah.. it kinda feels like cheating... Haha.. cheating to have a full party! Now THAT is a joke.. best joke of my week! Thanks for the quick response.

I guess that he will have to forego the armor... At this point, 24 reloads on that one battle.... enough is enough.
