I recently decided to play BG again, and surprise! I noticed that TS, SOS and TDD have all been WeiDu-ized. Does that mean Big Picture is obsolete? And the compatibility issues should be a lot less, right? Also, if I do install everything, do I have to install BGT before any of the others?

I think you still need Big Picture to make them inter-compatible--just because they are WeiDU it does not make them compatible with everything. ;) I don't know the exact current version numbers or install order, I'm afraid. In general for mod questions you are best off looking at the mod's site for answers, which in this case is http://www.spellholdstudios.net
