I've heard conflicting things about it.

Some say it's better than either Avira or Avast. Others say it's far worse.

Anybody have personal experience with this software?

Never even heard of it... which OS are you using? Post W8, I haven't even bothered with a separate antivirus program any more since it comes with the OS already and in my experience is good enough for average use.

It's pretty rare, but I've always trusted this one.

Jokes aside, that image looks really nice against the blue backdrop color of the forum :p

I recently bought a new PC with W10 on it.

Well, I'm not exactly trusting of anything from Microsoft aside from the OS itself. And even then ...

Coupled with Keneth's package and Malwarebytes, I consider it to be enough but YMMV... it's even mentioned here too (:D):

If you insist on additional protection, read the article I linked above and this one from PC Mag and make up your own mind. Recommending any antivir solution as "best" will always be a very subjective opinion, because even respectable computer magazines and websites that actually conduct thorough tests often come up with varying opinions on the same programs. Here's PC Mag's take on 360 Total Security.

But obviously, any antivir program is better than none and the fewer dodgy sites you visit and the more common sense you employ, the safer you'll be.

Don't forget that it changes from year to year. Once upon a time Norton Antivirus was considered the best of the best, especially in the 1990s. However the version that Comcast offered in 2008 was terrible. Not in terms of protection, but the fact that it made my then-new 2.25ghz quad-core computer with 6gb of RAM perform slower than the 1ghz single-core system with 512mb of RAM.

AVG Free used to be highly recommended, but it has been going down the tubes for the last 5 years, and got really bad with annoying notifications and pop-ups in 2014.
