I'm bored so I start this thread inspired by Death rabbits PS3 thread.

I'm a bit disappointed that the PSP is more of a recycling device for PS2 games.
So far there is only one game of the complete PSP games out there, I would recommend, and that is Jeanne D'arc.
It is a strategical RPG done by Level 5 and it's a masterpiece in its genre, imho.
Just don't take the historical associations too seriously, it is fantasy really :).

There are a few other good games but all are remakes of PS1/PS2 games.

There are plenty of RPG games for the PSP. Dungeon Siege I have seen for $10 at the local Walmart.

Isn't LocoRoco or whatever it's called meant to be good? Or is that a different console?

LocoRoco is a pretty nice casual game but far away from great, in my opinion.

Dungeon Siege isn't so good on PC to start with, so I would never play it on PSP, even if it would cost me $0.
On a sidenote, DS2 is pretty good actually for an Action RPG.

And yes, there are many RPGs on PSP, but mostly crap to be honest or remakes of classics which are more comfortably played on the big consoles.

    edit:
I mainly startet this topic in hope I may have missed a gem and someone has a game he/she loves and could recommend.
On the other hand not too many will have a PSP, I guess, which is understandable concerning its price and the miserable games available.

At least I like the above mentioned game, but that's only one ^^.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is the only PSP game you need

also great: Ys 3, 6, 7, ... FFT Lion War

    Ah, yes Monster Hunter.
It is pretty good, I actually own the first, but never finished it. Not quite my type of game, but nicely redone for PSP (The original MH is from PS2, iirc).
This can't be said for FFT on PSP which is an awful port (slower animations, desyncs with the soundeffects, to name the more major problems). I bought it because I'm a great fan of TRPGs, but I'd rather play it on a PSX emulator.
Ys is great, but again better played on PC (Falcom actually develops their games for PC, believe it or not :), though just recently with Ys 7 they seem to abandon PC market *sigh*). I read somewhere that Ys 6 on PSP has awful loading times, whereas the PC version runs smoothly. The only drawback is that the PC versions are japanese only, though there are fantranslations out there (for 1, 2, the remake of 3 and 6).
