Weidu is acting up on me! I cant install spell 50 and it installs things that I dont ask for.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

    List of installed mods:
    Parts of tactics
    Parts of quest pack
    Parts of improved battles
    item upgrade
    semi multi mod
    tower of deception
    unfinished business
    improved bams
    moinesses avatars

Thats it at the moment. Usually I install BG2 fixpack and tweakpack and some other things, but this is a fresh install, and I decided to stop as soon as I got this problem again. I'm thinking a recently updated mod comes in a new buggy version of weidu.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

If I delete the contents of the override folder and start again from the patch, would that work?

How did you make your fresh install? Did you use a new folder or the old one?

I deleted the whole folder and started again. copied the mod files to a current mods subdirectory, unzipped them into the BGII main folder and installed them, with more general mods coming later.

Just done a reinstall, gonna test it now. If it works (as in if the game loads), I'll make a backup of important files like chitin.key, dialog.tlk and the override folder.

Ah, OK. I was thinking perhaps that the old weidu.log had been left in the folder. This file is what WeiDU uses to determine what's been installed, and in what order. From the iun/re/install problems you were describing, it sounded suspiciously like an outdated weidu.log.

It happened twice on two fresh installs. I'm fairly sure that either the particular version of D0Questpack I have is corrupted, or there is a bug with the mods installation in general. It seems to be the only component affected.

After two fresh installs and the same problem I felt like I was going up against demogorgon with The Potato Peeler of Bluntness -1. But thankfully making backups of things has helped.
