Problem with Avast

    I got my computer cleaned up at the begining of October, and the people who cleaned it up and upgraded a lot of security software installed Avast! Antivirus on my computer.

    I downloaded an update that the program told me was ready to download, and now it's telling me that my licence number is not valid, and now my computer is no longer protected.

    Does anyone have suggestions on how to deal with this?

    If you have the home edition of Avast it is currently free from the Avast website so I would just download another copy, uninstall the original and then install the new copy. It looks like they just came out with a new version on the 13th so that might be the cause of your problem.

    If you have a properly licensed professional version of the software you could always check with someone from Avast.

    It looks like the guys who installed Avast installed the professional version. It had been properly licenesed until I installed the new edition.

    So I should just contact Avast and explain the problem to them?
