There are only two reasons to buy a Mac:
#1 - You edit a lot of video and audio using pro-tools as a job
#2 - You want an expensive paperwight

Other than that. there is no reson to waste your money on a Mac.

Grrr...Rednik, you beat me to this poll! :rolling:

I heard AMD procs are beating Macs at audio/video stuff these days. I should look for that Tom's Hardware Guide article.

From a gaming POV, PC is superior.
I've only used Mac a couple of times, for videos editing...

Woops, I misvoted... I should have voted "I use both", but I can't find a way to change my vote.

I have a PC at home (been using PCs for the past 14 years). But, I work at a newspaper, and they have only Macs there, so I'm forced to use one... PowerMac 5400/180. It stinks on ice :( (though it probably was a monster machine 9 years ago)

The G5, on the other hand... It's so pretty... Kitrax, the third reason would be that you fell in love

My brother uses a Powerbook G4 in combination with a Nikon D1X for professional photography. He's even done a 10-minute movie (timelapse photography) using them. It's simply amazing what Macs can do in terms of video editing. Though AMD's Athlon 64 is starting to impede on their territory it seems.
