Pillars of Eternity II, unlike the first Pillars of Eternity, requires a 64-bit operating system to play. There is, unfortunately, no way to play on a 32-bit OS.

For Windows players, a DirectX-compatible sound card is required.

    Minimum System Requirements
    • Operating System:
      • Windows Vista 64-bit or newer
      • macOS 10.12.6 (Sierra)
      • Ubuntu Linux 14.04 or greater
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100T @ 2.5 GHz / AMD Phenom II X3 B73
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: DirectX 11 Compatible
    • Storage: 45 GB Hard Drive Space
    Recommended System Requirements
    • Operating System:
      • Windows Vista 64-bit or newer
      • macOS 10.3.3 (High Sierra)
      • Ubuntu Linux 16.04 or greater
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400 @ 3.1 GHz / AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4850 or NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
    • Storage: 45 GB Hard Drive Space

So I have not bothered to get this yet and am trying to figure out whether it requires more than the original one when it comes to computing and graphics power. I don't feel like upgrading my computer just to play this game. My computer runs the original one fine on low to medium settings. Am I going to have issues with this one?

If you're still running a 32bit OS you're not going to be able to run PoE2 as far as i know.
I assume it's because of the cap on maximum usable RAM on a 32-bit OS, which the game seems to use quite a bit of.

I'm using Windows 10, which I think is 64bit. I can check when I get home.

Doesn't seem to think I meet the minimum specs:

"Minimum: ATI Radeon HD 4850 or NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
You Have: AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000"

You would think 5000 would be better than 4850, but I guess not . . .

Yeah, I kept getting a message about my graphics card drivers being out of date ...

That's what it says. Does your machine run the game anyway? I'm not tempted to buy the thing unless I know it will work.

Runs it smooth without a hitch. Mind you, my system goes above and beyond. I still don't see why the game wouldn't run for you over the difference between 4850 and 5000.
