I've scrolled through the guides here to see if such a guide excist, but I haven't been able to find one.

    Does one excist?
    Is anyone currently writing one?

I'm asking because I've recently started writing one for BGll: SoA and ToB.

Will your guide explain why do thieves with more than 200% pick pocket keep failing their shoplifting? especially in the copper coronet?

My thief with 200 in pick pocket (shadowkeeper) doesn't have any problem at all shoplifting.

That would be cool. I find pickpocket skills a must for the ultimate solo experience.

    **Spoiler alert**

I stolen a nice 'ring of the ram' from the guy in the government building (mage stronghold quest). I thought you could only get it in the planer sphere!

Usually I play a good character, who doesn't steal from others... But then it's great that I have Jan in my party ;) ! It's just a bit annoying if you fail and you have to slash your way through Athkatla for the rest of the game... ;)

it would be very cool with a pickpocket guide! i always fail when i try, so please, help me to become better if somebody has made such a guide :) !

No matter how high your pickpocket skill is you always have 1% chance of failure

I'm kind of working on a guide that includes pickpocketing info (by which I assume you mean who has what, and who's worth bothering pickpocketing). Unfortunately I'm playing BP-BGT-NEJ with every major mod other than Check The Bodies installed, and I'm still in the first third of BG, so it might be a while before I get anything comprehensive together. We'll see what happens. Good luck on that, though!

I never considered not stealing from people, regardless of my alignment.

    'Property is theft.' :D

    and cheese:

Pickpocket kangaxx and you get 2 ring of gaxx

and when you steal(not pick-pocket), do you get attacked or get your rep down?

also, I never use pick pockets.it is waste of time reloading.

It's gonna take a few weeks before I've finished SoA/ToB. If I've found a lot of worthful stuff to steal after that I'll write it as a guide.
If on the other hand I find that there are very few npc´s worth pick pocketing, I'll only post it as a topic here or something.

I only have Ease-of-Use and Expanded Thief Stronghold installed so I don't think so. One thing I noticed about the thief mod is that you can steal Mae'vars Shadow Armor in it, probably because he doesn't wear it in the mod.

I actually remember having trouble with stealing. I drank a lot of potions of master thievery and it was at least 250 pick pocket or somewhat around that number...I kept failing to steal every single time even with little items. Next time I tried I had 225 pick pocket and I managed to steal the items I wanted every single time...just wondering how that is possible. =\

I never bother going past 150 points in pickpockets (with potions). If you want to eliminate that 1% chance of failing, you can simply cast the Luck spell on your thief.

    @Elvenblade
You will only be writing down the important or odd items wont you? If its possible just give an overall description of what type of random stuff you can expect to lift from the people in a particular area.

Also --- anyone else feel a sence of deja vu?

I'll focus on the more important characters since most other seem to have random items to steal. But I'll also add less important npc´s if they have something worth stealing e.g. Meronia in the harper compund has a wand of fear and some useful potions.

As for the random stuff people carry: most merchants, nobles and guards usually have some gold a normal weapon or two and a magical scroll.
The scrolls are usually a high level scroll so pick pocketing a noble will allow you to get some good spells early on for free, or you could simply sell them.
