    Hello to everyone!

I 've just started playing BG2 complete (GOG original version, not EE) and there this little thing that bothers me....

Subtitles are missing for my protagonist character in dialog window. Every other NPC in my party has it, but PC doesn’t (when I select Imoen she responds with subtitled audio comment, while PC gives only audio). In Bg1 for example, „Default“ voiceset was subtitled and other voicesets that were included in the game were not. In Bg2, it seems that even „default“voiceset has no linked subtitles :(

I have no additional mods installed, just plain gog version and bg2fixpack.

    So, I have two questions:

    1) Is this a normal behavior for BG2 or what?

    2) Is there any way to fix this? Maybe by adding lines to dialog.tlk or I don’t know where?

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

TobEx (Throne of Bhaal Extender) supports this. You can read about it here; specifically, the Dialogue Greeting Subtitles component is what you want. I recommend using the latest release available here. Personally, I install most of the available TobEx components on my game.

Yep, that's it. It works! But actually it is component: Subtitles For Standard Soundsets (Adds subtitles for the male and female soundsets that ship with vanilla Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal), that I want ;)
I just hope that installing tobex on top of bg2fixpack wont mess anything.
But you have been a lot of help, 'cause I googled for two hours trying to solve that issue-without a clue. Big thanks!

You're right of course, I was a bit careless in my answer and specified the wrong component. At any rate, it is safe to install ToBex after the fixpack, so no worries there. Cheers!
