Not sure that this belongs here or in Lingering Sighs, but it's definitely a serious topic rather than a babbling one.

This survey seeks adults residing in the U.S. who either suffer from major mental illness themselves or who have adult family members who suffer from a major mental illness - you can check the site out for definitions of "major mental illness." NAMI, the National Alliance for Mental Illness, is a major advocacy group for people with mental illness and for their friends, family members, and care providers. You can get more information about NAMI from their webiste, BTW. The survey does ask for things like zip code, age, and gender, but NAMI promises the participants anonymity.

I have a professional interest in this so I am requesting participation from SP'ers who fit the survey profile and are interested in responding.

If you'd like to discuss the state of mental health care in general, go to it. I don't intend this thread to be a place to rehearse one's own symptoms, but comments about trying to access services, wherever you are, in the U.S. or elsewhere, are certainly welcome. And remember the general forum guidelines about out of bounds remarks and topics on SP - moderators will be watching, folks.
