ack, just found out something that people didnt know...II is implemented already...at least for attacks. I went through the code a little further than where i applied it and found a different call that does a similar thing (gets feat level) so...it seems people were wrong in saying that II wasnt implemented, they just thought it was better than it was...
for people who want to verify this:
73a001 is the start, its a push 20 (in hex, that makes it 32, the # for improved initiative in feats.ids) then it goes on to call a function that returns 1 if you have it, then checks if it returned 1 and subtracts 1 weapon speed if you do...

I should check spell casting now...

just checked spell casting, its enabled for that as well...

people just wanted to cheat to make it better, *sigh* bad people, bad.

    This is patch 2.01

I don't know if it affects spells, but it would be very, VERY nice...!! :D

well, i have the weapon part fixed already :-P Now i just have to wait on info about if it currently affects spells or if the spell part is broken as well.

I'm not sure if people realize that improved initiative isnt all that great... so your warhammer attacks as fast in your turn as a sword would...not a big deal. it does what it says, improves initiative rolls meaning in a given round, attack order depends on that, you dont get more attacks.

The only place i see this would be useful is when fighting something that can hit you and hit you hard. ah well.

now, the spell part is a bit nicer...i would like to get my charm off before the enemy's, thats for sure. getting spells off before an enemy is much better than attacking melee style before an enemy for most of the game depending on build...

So what you´re saying is that II DOES work, and those who claim otherwise are wrong? I never used it, since I read somewhere that it didn´t work...

    Hmmmm......

If it does work, it's fairly insignificant

This is a real time game. In ToEE, turn based game, II would make a difference in the order characters and monsters turns go. It would have little viewable effect in this type game.
